I just bought a laptop with Vista Home Premium. I expected it to be a 64 bit version (not that I have a good reason for that) but my system properties says I have a 32 bit system. Is that talking about my hardware or my os? I have a pentium dual core 2310 processor.

Click on start, then right click on 'computer' and choose properties. The window that pops up will tell you the 'system type' if it's 32 bit or 64 bit

Yeah that's how I found out that it is a 32 bit system. I'm wondering if that's talking about my hardware or my operating system. I know that the cpu is 64 bit compatible, so why does it say 32 bit? Is it talking about my motherboard? Or is just the version of windows I'm running.

to get the 64bit version you would have to buy another copy of vista!!

wouldn't recommend it yet tho as i am running 64bit and have had nothing but problems!

i would wait till more support for vista x64 comes out!
