I have an HP laptop running Windows XP SP2. The Control Panel shortcut is missing. How do I get it back?

It turned out that the computer was badly infected with multiple viruses. I reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows on the machine. I know it sounds like overkill, but it was the quickest route. No one in my family needed the computer anymore. My ex-wife is giving it to her mother anyway...

Everything is back to normal. I have an opinion about the people who create this kind of garbage, but there are probably kids reading this. I would have to withhold their rightful names from this post to make it family friendly.

Mikejones22,

What you posted was completely unacceptable language and attitude. This is a family-friendly site. If you joined simply to post garbage like that, I suggest you find some other forum to post at. You have no reason to assume that hhb was doing anything wrong when they got infected - it happens all the time from many sources.

I think the reference was about the people who create malware and not directed at this site or it's members.

... Yea, it doesn't sound like he's trying to insult GeeksToGo, it sounds like he mad at the people that create malware. And that he can't post how he feels on this site as it would be against the TOU.

What he posted was directed at hpb in my opinion. Anybody who posts stuff like that will have it removed as it is abuse

Since I made the original edit, let me clarify. I was not correcting what hpb posted, I was correcting what mikejones22 posted, as it was an obscenity-laced rant against hpb. Since he quoted hpb, that was left in the post.
