Hi
Welcome to GTG
Most likely your having a driver conflict between the old HD driver and the new HD driver this happins alot when you copy data from one hard drive to a other and try to use the new HD as the boot HD.
I have found the best way to install a new HD is to remove the old HD Install the new drive then fdisk format and install the OS then reinstall the old HD as the slave drive then copy the data you want off the old one to the new one It takes a little more time But I have found doing this way you have less conflicts and problems.
