I posted this in the Software forum but i haven't gotten any responses so i guess i should have put it here

Monitor - Samsung SyncMaster 204B
Graphics Cards - 2 XTX1950's Crossfired
Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo 6700 2.66 GHz
Motherboard - Asus P5W DH Deluxe
RAM - 2 Corsair XMS2's

A few problems...

Flashing Screen
Well, for a few months now, after updating my monitor driver the screen would keep flashing. It begins flashing after restarting my computer, but after disconnecting the monitor from the tower and putting it back, it would be ok. But after running games it would start flashing again and wouldn't stop until i close the game. But if I play World of Warcraft and put it in windowed mode and fullscreen it, it would be ok. Other games however still flash. I went to the ATI website and apparently this is a fairly common problem, but I did everything the website told me to do but nothing worked.

Random Computer Restarts
For a few months (maybe later than the flashing screen error), my computer would randomly restart. It would happen very rarely however, so I never paid much attention to it. However, I tried running Warcraft 3 - Frozen Throne and it would restart after attempting to run the game.

Hello SOH,

I would think that this has to do with a monitor driver issue. Try the following:

1. On your desktop right click "My Computer" and choose "Properties"

2. Click on the "Hardware" tab

3. Click on "Device Manager"

4. Look for your monitor in the device list

5. Right click the name of your monitor when you find it and choose "Properties"

6. Click on the "Driver" tab and choose to rollback the driver

This will set the drive back to it's earlier version. If not follow the same steps above and choose to update the driver. If all fails search for the most recent driver for your monitor on the manufacturers website.

I don't believe in luck so I wish you good fortune!

So, I removed teh monitor driver and the flicker still was there. Then, I reinstalled the new driver and it still didn't work. I went to the Display settings and saw a few different monitors that were enabled and disabled. I saw that the old monitor driver was the main one and the new one was still disabled. So I swapped them making the new driver the main one and now the screen flashes repeatedly even after pulling the plug and I cant use the computer unless Im in safe mode. How do I change it back? help....
