Hey there,

on my laptop services.exe is running wild, consuming all CPU time. I noticed this a few weeks ago and tried a number of things to identify the problem. Scanning for spyware/viruses, removing recently installed hardware, removing many unnessary processes from running at startup, restoring older system versions ...
Without success ...

After system restore (to a month ago) problem is gone for about a day but then reappears. I noticed in the windows task manager that the name changes from lower case services.exe to capital SERVICES.EXE when problem occurs.

I have uptodate Norton antivirus software and syp sweeper running. I discovered a simular (not yet answered) thread on this site and desided to give this a try. I followed through the steps 1 to 5 before sending this message.
