Hi,

I have a very dirty screen on my laptop. It's mostly fingerprints. :) What can I do to safely clean off the screen? I'm getting ready to pass this laptop onto my mother when my new one arrives.

Thanks,

Most computer stores now stock purpose-made moist wipes or a small spray bottle to use with a clean cotton cloth.

Alternatively, a cotton cloth moistened with a 50/50 solution of vinegar and distilled-water can be used. Don't use tap-water as that contains impurities which can damage the membrane of the screen.

If using a spray or aerosol, don't spray the screen otherwise it may run down and inside the bottom of the screen-bezel. Spray the solution on to the cloth!
