I found a new file called "documents" in my c: drive on my computer. It appeared out of nowhere, I can't access it and I can't delete via conventional means. When I click on it to open, it says it is not accessible. When I try to delete it, an error window pops up, saying it is a windows file that is important to the system operation, and cannot be deleted. When I click on properties, it says it doesn't contain any files or bytes. My next step is to start up in safe mode and try to delete it from there. But before doing that, I just wonder if anyone has any insights on this, and the safety of my next action before I attempt to perform it. Thanks!

If your computer has more than one OS then boot into other OS and delete the file from there......
And if it is not multi OS computer then get the CD of Knoppix which is Linux OS which you can use to boot into Linux through CD and then delete the corresponding file if you are sure it is virus file......
