Please run these two online scans. Make sure they are set to clean automatically:

TrendMicro's HouseCall
ActiveScan

You should try to delete any files that these scanners are unable to clean. Make sure you check the 'Disinfect automatically' option in Active scan, and check the “Auto Clean” option in TrendMicro, Then let us know if its working better and what the scans found.

Then scan again with HijackThis and post another log.

Also how' is firefox or mozilla for a browser and can i use both Microsoft IE and either of those?

Yes, I sometimes use Firefox, not a lot but have no problems running both

Hi Don77,
I ran those 2 programs online, one found about 3 trojans and the other found 2 spyware. Also trend micro found a critical item in the MSN messenger it read: A remote code execution vulnerability exists in MSN messenger that could allow an attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerable to take complete control of the affected system. Then it says ,How to Fix, under that is a link to another page when clicked called MS05-022,when i click this it comes up,sorry, not able to open to site.I always wanted to disable MSN,but verizon says you can't and i know i can shut it in the msconfig, doesn't shut in the tools settings this seems like a problem on how things get in my computer. If you can tell me a better way of shutting MSN messenger and ms messenger there is 2 one original microsoft.
The IE explorer is O.K.,but sometimes MSN is hard to get home page thinking maybe it's MSN problem. :tazz:

Don77,
O.K. i ran ewido security suite and highjack this here are the reports.
Why is it so easy to get spyware, malware, viruses when you have broadband service, but i never had this problem with dial-up and i even have a firewall now and antivirus?Do they get in even if you don't download anything or open junk mail.I run the microsoft anti-spyware,Adaware,spysweeper,ewido,window washer and run a tune up utility.---------------------------------------------------------

don77,
Still MSN homepage is slow on loading page, but seems to work fine when surfing. It comes with Dsl,but i really don't care for MSN.It's easier with e-mail and certain items.I would like to shut MSN messenger all together, doing it in tools by checking certain catagories doesn't really shut it off.Unless i do it in the MSCONFIG.Is that safe, will MSN explorer still work O.K.? :tazz:

Don77,
Seems to be working good now, time will tell.I can not shut msn messenger only from startup in msconfig, tried other programs to remove it,guess it needs messenger for MSN to work.Verizon told me it can't be disabled,i did not believe that.If you know a better way let me know.I still feel that messenger is a security risk i do not need don't use it anyway. One other thing a tune up program i have said to disable administration shares that it also was a security risk.Should i disable and how do i do it?I have a program that can disable it,but it's only free for another 20 days, don't want to take a chance.Just let me know about the stuff i wrote and we can close this thread.Thank you for the help! :tazz:

Don,
So you can't shut down messenger either? When checking e-mail i don't like to use Outlook express or i use verizon www.dslstart.verizon.net,can't figure how to filter mai.Like i read it's a risk to run msn messenger. You do not know anything about Administration shares disabling it?Says it is a risk,i think this is for when someone hooks to your computer to help with a problem say like Dell or Gateway that way they can see what's going on. :tazz:

don,
Msn seems to sign on faster now,but for how long.I use IE more often since the problem, but it seems if your paying for something you want to get all you can get, that's why i use MSN.I am a little skeptical about fooling with administration shares, was i right when i said in other replies that admin. shares is for hooking into your computer from another network, can u answer this before i disable it.I don't use a feature like this anyway,so if i'm right it can be disable without any sytem problems.Thanx!! :tazz:
