Hello,

I have a friend who is having a snafu with his computer. All of his icons and his taskbar disappeared. Sometimes it would flash on and then back off. We found the process explorer.exe is the problem. It disappears in the Task Manager under Processes whenever his icons and taskbar disappear. If we go to file >> run >> explorer.exe the icons and taskbar will come back up, and then disappear. What can we do to fix this problem? He is urgently waiting your response and thanks you for all of your help.

Thanks a ton,
Tim (the one with the problem) and Paul

Experience has shown this to usually be a result of malware.
I suggest that you follow the procedures outlined here:
http://www.geekstogo...-Log-t2852.html

When complete, post a HiJackThis log here:
http://www.geekstogo...o-Here-f37.html
Posting a HJT log elsewhere will only delay the help you need.

In your first post, please provide full system specifications and a concise description of the problem.
You will be helped by a trained malware removal specialist.

If problems remain after your helper gives you a clean bill of health,
post back here and we will assist in getting everything sorted.

Good luck, and happy hunting.
