My computer sometimes freezes. Often in the middle of scheduled Norton scans, the scan just stops and doesn't continue. I hit control/alt/delete and I can't even get that to work, so I have to hold the power button and shut down the computer.

I just bought a new Acer computer with vista. I have had Norton antivirus and spysweeper since I bought the computer. I run Norton, spysweeper, adaware, spybot, and windows defender weekly and nothing other than cookies is ever found. I don't know what the problem could be.

Any suggestions? Could this be an infection?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
