Hi --

I'm having a problem getting a Dynex Firewire card to work with my Panasonic DV camcorder. It seems to install OK and Win XP recognizes my camcorder thru it but the video is splotchy and sound is crackly -- doesn't work well at all. I tested the same camcorder on a similar laptop with a built-in Firewire port and it worked fine.

Compaq support says since the card was recognized properly, the problem is in the card. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this? Dynex has no online support and their 24 hour support line doesn't work.

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark, welcome to Geeks to Go! <_<

Compaq support says since the card was recognized properly, the problem is in the card.

I'd have to agree, as long as your computer specs meet the needs of the card and video software.

Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

Return it to where it was purchased, and try another card.
