Hi belgin fish,

Please try the following which I found on google.

I encountered the exact same problem when I changed my operating system from
XP to 2000 and tried installing WMP 9. I tried uninstalling WMP 9 and
reinstalling, then installing version 7 to see if that would work, but I
continued to get the error and still could not open WMP. I even ran
Norton's Win Doctor and that didn't help. I tried everything I could think
of except standing on my heading and eating a bug. I then uninstalled WMP,
rebooted and went to the Windows Media Player folder and deleted as many
files as I could, rebooted again and reinstalled WMP 9. That solved the
problem for me and I was able to FINALLY access the frigging utility.

Also please try not to PM anyone as posting in the forums will help everyone. Someone will get to you when they can.
