please can anyone tell me ....

what should be the reason for the following situation ....

my xp on drive d: drive dont read dvds but 2000 on c: drive reads them easily

Can you elaborate further? I do not really get what you mean, but as I can see, you have 2 partitions, and 2 OS's installed.

What is C:\ and what is D:\? Are they DVD drives or hard drive partitions? What do you mean by C:\ not reading DVDs and D:\ reading DVDs easily?

they are hard drive partitions

c: drive has windows 2000 installed and d: has window xp and on 2000 i can read dvd easily but not on xp
