This problem has never happened to me before. Now it keeps happening frequently, and it's very annoying...

Almost everytime i try to do something the lights flicker and then it stops working. Then i hear this sound that windows makes, and then the lights flicker again, and all better..

Any way to prevent this from happening?

The lights i was refering to was the light that you see when the num lock is on on the keyboard, and the red light on my optical mouse. I've been running the same programs that i've had before i had this problem. I dont like opening my pc, cause i dont wanna mess anything up.

here's something to try without opening your pc:
borrow a keyboard and/or mouse from one of your friends and test them on your pc. if they still quit working, read the HJT guide and submit a HJT log.
