If you installed Microsoft .Net Framework v3.0, the XPS Document Writer driver is installed automatically into your 'Printers and Faxes' folder for printing to a file rather than printing to a physical printer.
What's probably happened is that this XPS Document Writer is now the 'default' printer instead of your Canon printer, so when you go to 'File->Print' it sends your document to the wrong printer driver. It's easy to fix:
1. Open 'Control Panel' (classic view).
2. Click "Printers and Faxes".
3. Right-click the icon for your Canon printer.
4. Select "Set as Default Printer".
A tick should now appear beside the Canon printer icon.
