I have half life 2 installed fine on my old pc, but, as i have finally got a new pc, been spending hours to try and get it to install!!

The installation says you must install steam to be able to install half life 2, So i click ok,

Steam installs fine and then i nead to enter CD-Key i enter it and then it says "Already registered to another Acount"

So then i have to cancel the installtion


Then i went and downloaded Steam off the steam site
Instaled fine, Logged on on my acount that half life cd key is registered to and then try and install halflife 2 again

This time it finds that steam is installed and says make an acount or log in, i click login and it comes up saying "There is not enough free disk space to install steam"

I have got a 250 gb harddrvie with 200gb free and a second 500gb harddrive with 410gb free so its not a space problem


How can i install halflife 2!??

Do you have an antivirus running by chance? You may try disabling that and trying again.

Try uninstalling steam, reinstalling steam, and then go to steam support to reset you cd key. It worked for me.

After spending another 2 hours trying, i managed to install it!!

I just installed Steam, Logged in and went to the 'My Games' Section

It then came up with the halflifes under the 'Not Installed' Tab and right clicked on them

i clicked install and then it just downloaded it from steam so an easy way if you have lost the cd or something
