I also have the trojan-spy.html.smitfraud.c

I cannot get past the blue screen after startup. I tried going to the safe mode only to have the same error mesaage displyed in safe mode.

How do I get to start.
I am not using the infected computer now.

I'm not quite understanding what you're saying. You can't get past what blue screen? Your computer does boot up, yes? What error message are you talking about?

I restarted my computer and the only thing that gets to the display is a blue screen with the fatal error message in IE has occured at 0028:C0011E36 in VXD VMM,01>

And it never boots up?

Correct. I can do a control -alt-delete and get a screen for three item to end. the small pop up box

Any ideas? ALso there is amessage with the error message that says the system can not function in normal mode.

I can help you remove the malware, but your computer has to boot up for that. The only thing I can suggest at this point is to post in the applicable Operating System forum (ie XP, ME/98/95).

I just realized what you're talking about - it's late... that is actually a fake error message placed as your wallpaper on your desktop. Have you actually waited for the computer to boot up before restarting it or did you restart it immediately?

Sorry I dozed off. The computer boots up and strts but I cannot fiqure out how to get rid off the wall paper

I am looking for a little input on how to clear this screen, I have tried everything that I new about.

It goes through all the start up procedure then stays with the blue screen and error message.
