Wipe a drive and reinstall

well, im fixing a computer for a friend, and i need to completely format the HDD and reinstall windows, only one problem, though; the dell support reinstall disc is corrupt :)

where can i buy or download a disc of windows xp? i already have a CD Key (which is really what you pay for)

any help is appreciated!

Howdy:

Get a new one from Dell. The cd key you are wanting to use is only allowed to be used on that particular Dell cd.

that will probably work, but before i do that, are thee any other, faster alternatives? my friend needs her PC back by january 2nd (for school)

Yep.. go down and buy a new retail copy of XP or find someone with the exact same system and Dell Restore cd and use that.

i see....well, thanks, murray! gonna go contact dell and see what i can do!

OMG hate dell support. all operators were busy, so they router me away. thats fine, but all of a sudden "BEEP BEEP BEEP!! we're sorry, the number you dialed has been disconnected."
