My laptop will not get past a blue screen with a fatal error message. And it states that is was caused by Trojan-Spy.HTML.Smitfraud.c

I tried safe mode with the same results only in safe mode.

Any ideas on how to get to a start menu?

You can post back into your other topic in the malware forum. That is actually a fake message placed as your desktop wallpaper. Your computer will boot up, so you must have been restarting it immediately once you saw the error message. We can get rid of it! :tazz:

There's also about three or four other posts with the same problem. Wonder if any one ever uses this forum's SEARCH function to look for similar posts? I found the ones on Smitfraud.c by putting it in as the keyword. Actually, I just did it again and there are five postings for Smitfraud.c now.
