My girlfriends (almost brand new) computer has rather slow performance, and I can't find out why. I've tried defragging, running CCleaner, doing disk checks, etc etc, but these hardly improve performance.

Here are the computers specs:

OS: Vista
Memory: 512 MB
Hard Drive: 120 GB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3800+ 2.4 GigaHertz

I don't really know much about any of these, except their purpose. Are any of the specs too low? Or is there something else behind the poor performance?
Help solving my problem would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

This isn't the place for HJT logs. However, I don't think malware is your problem. Running Vista with only 512mb of RAM is sure to be an excruciatingly sluggish experience. I recommend you find out what type of RAM you have and buy at least 512mb more RAM (the more the merrier).

Lack of memory is your bottleneck. Feed it at least another 1Gb of memory and then watch it (relatively) fly.
