hi! i've been using the built-in fax program in windows XP for quite some time now without incident until about a month ago. i usually just send my word documents to a fax recipient (clicking on "file" then "send to a fax recipient"). i've disabled the receiving faxes option on the fax console since i don't like receiving faxes that way.

anyhow, since about a month ago, my pc suddenly restarts itself when a fax is nearly completely sent. i've tested this several times by sending faxes to the office fax machine. right when i receive the complete fax in the real fax machine, my pc restarts. once it has restarted, a message from the fax console pops up saying that the fax failed although it was completely and clearly received. the fax manager then proceeds to redial and re-send the document.

i observed it as well on the redial attempt. it actually completes the re-send and then restarts all over again.

this is a very annoying problem for me :tazz: and, i suspect, even more so for the recipient.

can someone please help me get rid of this problem? ;)

Can you try the suggestions here:

Once Windows stops rebooting we can see if we need to do something more to tackle what is causing the errors.
