hello,
i thought i might try and add some more memory to my comp as it has been dragging a bit playing games recently, and memory seems so cheap thought it was worth a go!!
when i checked on the crucial site for what type i need it shows
Maximum Memory Capacity: 4096MB
Currently Installed Memory: 4.125GB
Available Memory Slots: 2
Number of Banks: 4
Dual Channel Support: No
CPU Manufacturer: GenuineIntel
CPU Family: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.06GHz Model 2, Stepping 7
CPU Speed: 3058 MHz
Installed in pairs of modules.

Currently installed memory:

128MBDDR PC3200 4GB
EMPTY EMPTY

Each memory slot can hold DDR PC3200,DDR PC2700,DDR PC4000 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*

whats going on! i was going to add two 512's as i believe i need to add in pairs, but i don't think i really have a 4gb in one slot!!
any help or advice would be great, many thanks.....

Crucial site tells you what you can take it up to, not what you've got.
Unless you've downloaded the Belarc Advisor, that is...

Easy solution to see what you've got is shut the system off and take the side panel off.
