If this is not the right forum for this I apologize, just tell me and I will delete it and put it in the correct spot.

I was interested in purchasing a commercial anti-spyware program that was not subscription based. Because I get Spy Eraser 2 free with other programs I bought from their organization, I was thinking about just using that one, but was unable to find any helpful reviews.

Does anyone here have any experience with/opinions on how effective at detecting/preventing/removing spyware it is?

Thanks.

The problem of just buying a program is that it will eventually be discontinued and you may not be able to get any updates for it at all.
Whereas with a subscription based program, when your subscription runs out, a newer version will almost always become available. Yes it might cost more in the long run but technologies evolve and in the world of spyware, one program needs to change its tactics and your standalone non-subscription out-of-date program has no chance of keeping up.
