HI
i'm having trouble, i told my friend to help me buy a harddrive, He said that it is SATA format, i'm not really sure if it will fix with my motherboard. All i know is that my mother board has the plugs that the CD rom plug into. My motherboard is Gigabyte P4 Titan 533 GA-8IE Intel 845E chipset. Can you tell me if it has a SATA plug and if it doesn't, wat can i do?

doesnt look like you have SATA on that board. your options are to return that hard drive and get an ATA-133 (standard) drive, or spend even more money to get a SATA controller card that will fit in a PCI slot, and connect the SATA drive to that.
exchanging the hard drive for ATA-133 is your best bet.
