Errors in no particular order:
"Explorer.exe - bad image - Tmp1.tmp is not a valid image file - Please check against install disk."
"Cannot execute c:\windows\system32\ctfmon.exe - Memory Allocation Error - Cannot Load COMMAND - System Halted"
(Also same error message with c:\windows\mrofin~1.exe and c:\progra~1\atitec~1\ati.ace\clistart.exe)
Also occasionally get "Windows File Protection" error and prompts me to insert "Windows XP Profesional CD2" in my CD-ROM drive.
(Have not seen this error on the last 5-6 reboots)
Other symtoms: VERY slow shutdown and restarts, intermitent internet connection problems, icons that used to be on the taskbar next to the clock no longer show up (although the programs have not been removed)
General Info:
I connect to the internet through a wired home network and Netgear router.
I am using CA Anti-virus and Firewall. Have done a complete system scan with CA Anti-virus - it found nothing.
The computer was purchased off-lease at a rent-to-own store, so I have no reinstallation cd.
