toshiba dvd writer wont write

i have a toshiba sdr5372v tu11 and it will not write to dvd-r or +r dvd's it will only write to dvd+rw disc's weither its software or a movie file or music file. i have no idea what its malfunction is and was hoping some kind hearted sole in the forums might know what the problem is and could point me in the right direction to fixing it thank you very much and happy new year

Does the windows recognize it as a dvdRW?

What burning program are you using?

Did it work on this computer in the past? or did you make any changes?
