I hope someone can help me as I have had no luck since Christmas trying to get my Ipod/Itunes to work. I have loaded Itunes 7.5 and Quick Time into my computer. When I try to open Itunes, the hour-glass appears for a few seconds then disappears without showing Itunes. I can open Quicktime w/o any problems.

When I either shut down or restart the computer, a windows comes up asking me to close the Itunes program, leading me to believe it is running.

I appreciate any help.

I had a similar problem. I had left my iPod connected via USB overnight, in the morning iTunes was not on. I double clicked to start iTunes, but I couldn't start iTunes. I got the hourglass, but the program wouldn't come up. I finally turned on my iPod (which was still connected) and iTunes popped-up.
