HP Pavilion a1430n reading light scribe dvd write as a cd drive

I realized today my desktop is reading my dvd burner as a cd drive, and will not burn any discs now, I tried up dating the drivers and was told there was no new ones. Uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers as well. any suggestions?
