I'm having this problem too. I've gotten the updates, uninstalled, reistalled, all that stuff. It seemed like it was a problem with service pack 2, which was causing other problems, so I uninstalled that, but it's still doing it.
It happens almost everytime my screen saver comes up. I have searched the internet like crazy and can not figure this out. I have a Dell Inspiron 1100, same graphics controller 82845g/gl/pe/gv. But actually, before I reinstalled it, it said 82845GM.
I doubt it's a virus, I have anti-virus up to date, spyware, adware programs.
