I've been looking over my firewall applications and what's running and I see that svchost.exe is very prominent in what's being utilized.

I looked up the application and it appears to be essential for the running of windows but says that it can also be used by back door programs and trojans.

Apparently it depends where it is being run from as to whether it is malicious or not.

any help would be very helpful, thanks!
