I have some files scanned using Scansoft Omnipage that end with opd. I wish to send them to a friend who doesn't have that software. Is it possible to convert them into a Word document? Is there some other way to make them readable?

TIA

Is there an option in the scanning software to save it as a different file?

Not familiar with that scanner but I would think there is a choice to save it as a different file type.

I did look, but I couldn't find anything. Unfortunately, with my level of expertise that doesn't mean it isn't there - just that I can't find it :)

Have you tried renaming the file from .opd to .txt ? That works on quite a few file types.
