If I play any sound (dvd, audio cd) from my cd drive, the sound is scratchy and choppy. It used to work fine. I have tried the same thing with an external cd drive nad it worked fine. So I can only assume it is something wrong with my cd drive. If I do a system restore (anything over about 4 months ago) it works fine again.

I can't figure out why it won't play. If whilst a track is playing on the cd, I skip back to the start, it plays fine up to the the point it previosly got to, it then goes choppy again as soon as it starts playing new data.

If you understand what i'm trying to explain and you have any ideas, it would be most appreciated, I don't really want to have to restore my system as a lot has changed over the last 4 months.
