Perhaps this is incorrect thread (not sure) but nonetheless giving it a try.

Currently using OE but whenever I read mail and go to actual location where mail orginálly rcvd the email appears to have been deleted.

The attached screenshot gives details of email client. Can anyone suggest why the inbox of email client is being cleared after reading mail in OE.

Have you checked the box "Leave a copy of messages on server" that's on the Advanced tab? Also, once checked, there are two other options you can chose.
