Hi,

I have the DVD of my wedding and I want to upload the speeches to youtube so people around the world can see them. The DVD has and Audio TS and a Video TS folders. Inside these are VOB, BUP and IFO files.

Is there a pieces of software I can download where by I can drop the files on the DVD in, and get an AVI or Mpeg or some file type that I can upload out?

Its about 40 mins long in total so i supose I would need a way of splitting it or shrinking it to a sensible file size. The DVD shows up as 1.76GB!

Any help really appreciated as i have search the net with the obvious searches but come up dry.

Cheers

Well, you'll have to use a video converter to convert the DVD into a proper youtube format. If you follow this link and scroll down to the "DivX and XviD" section, you'll find plenty of guides telling you how to convert your DVD into either divx or xvid format (I recommend Xvid.) I've used a few programs before and I can't remember if I used the ones listed in this guide but I think I have and I got great results. http://www.afterdawn...ert_to_xvid.cfm

You're DVD's not too big (an average movie dvd that's been shrunk in size is a little over 4 gigs) but I would still recommend converting while you sleep (unless you've got a super fast processor.)

Here are the Youtube recommendations for video formats on their site:

YouTube accepts a wide range of video file formats such as .WMV, .AVI, .MOV, and .MPG transferred from most digital cameras, camcorders, and cell phones.

We've found that files converted from .wmv to one of the other formats our webpage accepts generally have a lower playback quality than other file formats. If you have your source video in a format other than a .wmv file, you may want to encode directly to MPEG4 (DivX, Xvid, SVQ3) at 640x480 resolution, with 64k Mono MP3 Audio. If you have a source .wmv in high bitrate and larger resolution you may want to convert to MPEG4 at full resolution and then resizing to 320x240 using a high quality resizing algorithm - this can help reduce the number of artifacts you end up with.

I am a new here, maybe the reply is a little late.
Anyway, you need a third dvd ripping App to assist you. Handbrake is no stranger as a free DVD Ripping software. It's a free Windows utility for ripping videos from DVDs and saving them in various formats. But if your DVDs are encrypted by CSS, Handbrake unable to do so about this.i used icoolsoft dvd ripper ,it can ripp dvd to MP4,AVI,FLV thus you can upload your file to youtube.Hope my information is useful.
