If you have a 400/533MHz front side bus motherboard, can you add a 800MHz processor to it?

If i'm not incorrect, an 800mhz processor uses a slower FSB than 400/533 so there wouldn't be a reason to add such a slow processor to the motherboard. That being said, if the slot is the same then the FSB can always be clocked down to whatever speed the processor uses.
