I have a DLink DWL-510G I'm trying to get working on XP Pro.
I've had the card for about a year and was working fine until my hard drive turned gay and I had to get a new one.
I thought it stopped working cause the drivers were gone, so I went to the DLink website and downloaded the drivers again. I installed the drivers and it didn't work, then I read somewhere that with some DLink stuff you have to install the drivers before you put the card in. So I uninstalled the drivers, took out the card, installed the drivers, put the card back in and it still didn't work.
I've tried turning off the Windows Zero Wireless thingy so it could only use the DLink configuration app but that didn't work.
I think the computer just doesn't recognise the card, when I try to manually install the drivers through device manager it never works. And I'm sure I have the right drivers for the right OS. Also I can't see any mention of wireless networks in network connections.
Any suggestions would be good before I just buy another card.

There is one thing I would say try first and that is to move the card into another PCI slot on the motherboard, it could be that the PCI slot went bad.

If that's not it, I'm sorry to say, but I think you may need to buy another card. It sounds like this one is dead.

Nice one, I didn't think of that.
