System:
AMD Athlon X2 5200+ (65W, 2.6Ghz)
Wintec 2GB 800Mhz Ram (1 stick)
Biostar NF520-A2 motherboard
Seagate Barracuda 250GB hdd (7200rmp)
Leadtek Geforce 8800GT
Creative Audigy SE (happened even before I installed the sound card)
PSU:480W
Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit

PROBLEM: Random BSODs every 3-4 hours. Almost ALWAYS in internet browsing. NEVER had even 1 while gaming.

Here is the latest dump log analyzed. Any help in determining which component is failing is apreciated. This is on a CLEAN Vista install with newly assembled system. All drivers are updated to latest versions.

well, I see 2 issues here.

There is an issue with a Vista driver. To find out more info, windbg can be used to analyze the mindmp file. Take a look at this MS article: http://support.micro...kb/931370/en-us

The other issue, and also a contributor, would be your power supply. Your power supply is under powering your system. Going with a good quality 600watt ps would greatly improve your system stability and probably performance.

please let me know if you have any questions over the debug. I'll see if I can answer your questions.

Here is what the debug tool you referenced gave me. It gives the same thing with ALL of the minidump files that I have.
Also the power supply...although not great seems stable. I can run Crysis and UT3 and demanding games and it is ROCK solid. Problem occurs when I'm browsing the net or just in Windows as I said....odd.

have you tried updating your drivers (sound, video, nforce, ect)?

I have updated all drivers:
As follows:
Geforce --> 169.28 (64bit)
Mobo-Nforce 15.01 (or the latest for the mobo FROM website) Did not install SATA drivers as those congif the windows to work in RAID mode somehow (don't ask) and make the HDD freeze very badly
Latest sound drivers for Creative 64bit

I think thats drivers for the most part but again, I have updated the drivers for everything. Even updated BIOS on mobo...which reminds me the mobo reads the PC temperature BAD...around 15C on idle-25C load on stock air cooler so its wrong. I think it may be a bad motherboard but unsure as the CPU is the one failing it seems.

It is interesting to note I first got a blue screen on the FIRST Vista install from a FRESH hdd (just assembled PC) so I'm pretty sure it is a hardware problem. Trying to isolate and RMA at this point.

I would concure that it is a hw issue. I would also say that anything that you have added since the initial build can be ruled out.

That leaves you to the original components. Unfortunately the mindmp is incomplete and thus analysis isn't able to point to a specific item.

now that leaves you with the option of trading out parts until you find the issue.

And this is what I started to do.
Parts I ruled out SO FAR:
-Hard Drive
-Video Card
-CD/DVD drives
-Power supply
-CPU

I did research and asked around and a ton of BSODs are caused by RAM. So I started with switching to a DDR2 533Mhz (2x1GB sticks). This appears to have fixed the issue. Unfortunately the other RAM seems good--Tested with memtest AND the Vista tool...not a single error and solid in games as well. This rules out processor now too.
The CPU temperature bug is not caused by the CPU as I found by using Speedfan and another tool to see that the temperature pin on the CPU is measuring correctly (27-30C idle) and the motherboard is screwing up.
This coupled with the fact it gives me BSODs with a working DDR2 800Mhz stick make me lean toward the motherboard being the issue. I'm still investigating but so far stuff seems to check out toward a faulty motherboard.
Customer support for the motherboard stopped. They only told me to update BIOS and after I told them I did already, they did not reply...so.
Thinking of getting an RMA on the motherboard, but will investigate it a bit more first.

UPDATE:
The RAM (both old 800Mhz and new 533Mhz) now confirmed to be fully OK. I think I have isolated the issue. Upon installing the 533Mhz ram I also increased the voltage from the default 1.2V on CPU to 1.23V. It didn't error and I thought it was the 533Mhz RAM that fixed it. Upon lowering the CPU voltage to the old 1.20V, Windows started giving me the SAME Blue Screens with the SAME code so I think its the CPU being undervolted. I checked online for specs for the model and the AMD Athlon X2 5200+ is rated from 1.20V to 1.25V. Apparently 1.20V combined with my not so good voltage causes voltage spikes that dip it under 1.20V and the system crashes.
I will now attempt to put the DDR2 800Mhz ram and raise the voltage to 1.23V to see if it will be stable like it was with the 533Mhz.

Thank you for support btw Starjax
