Vista V Messenger

Hi All

i am having a few 'Issues' with Vista and was wondering whether anybody out there can help me out at all. i have been trying to install Windows Messenger on my laptop, which is all hunky dory and done, but then after i have logged on it closes immediately stating that it has stopped working. i have followed the instructions and found that this is due to the DEP and have tried to change the settings but it says that the DEP must be turned on for messenger and i have no idea how to get Messenger working on my machine.

i hope that somebody out there can help me
