I really dislike Windows 2000 Professional, nothing about it is easy. Unfortunately, that is what is on my older Gateway computer.

For the last few weeks I have been getting an error message about IONet.exe creating an error and that it must close the program. This happens every few minutes after I start the computer. It doesn't matter what program I am in, or if I am on line, it continues to pop up. I have no idea what program it is talking about. I can not find any program called IONet on the computer.

I am totally not computer minded. I have run searches to find out what or who IONet is and every search comes back with no answers.

Can you help??

Thank you

Hello actownley and welcome to Geeks to Go!

I suggest you go to the Malware Forum and run all the steps located in the START HERE. These self-help tools will help you clean up 70% of problems on your own. If you are still having problems after doing the steps, then please post a HiJackThis Log in THAT forum. If you are unable to run and/or post a HJT log, then post that in your initial post in the topic you create in that forum.

If you are still having problems after being given a clean bill of health from the malware expert, then please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
