my external subwoofer hums all the time, even when muted. It pops loudly when turned on. How do I repair it or know to replace it?

Make sure the jack is plugged in all the way first.

When it is humming, try "wiggling" the plug/jack and see if that makes a differance.

Static can cause a hum. Might be a dust/dirt problem that just needs to be cleaned.
