hello. i am a new member as of 4/20/05. i need help with the drwatson post mortem debugger... :tazz: i did what it said before posting and downloaded spybot, avg, ad-aware, and sc shredder, and none of those worked because i still cant access MY COMPUTER or RECYCLE BIN or ACCESS PANEL or anything and drwatson sometimes comes up.. and when it does i have to go in ctrl+alt+delete (task manager) and end the watson program to regain control of my comp.. ;)
and i just finished downloading "hijackthis" and it said i need a staff member to help me with this or sumtin..

please help me when you can, it would be most appreciative.

-Jeff

Were you able to run HijackThis and save a log? If so, please post the log. If not can you tell us what went wrong? Did it not download? Did it not run? You do need help before using HijackThis to remove anything but you should be able to make a log on your own unless HijackThis won't run.

Get a copy of winsockxpfix.exe before you do anything. This is just a safety
item in case you can't get on the internet afterwards. You just run it and
things should work OK after it reboots your system.

http://www.iup.edu/h...net/winfix.shtm

Also download and install ccleaner.exe from http://www.ccleaner.com. Don't let
it clean anything yet.

Start then right click on My Computer and press Manage. In the new window
Service and Applications then Services. In the right pane scroll down and find
the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Helper. Make sure you have the right one. The so called Helper! There are two others that are good guys with similar names.Double click on it and and then set the Start Type
to Disabled. Then OK.

Now shutdown and reboot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key when you see the PC
maker's logo.
Keep tapping until it tells you it is going to Safe Mode or you see the Safe
Mode menu. Select the top option.

Run HijackThis and just do a Scan only. Check then Fix
Checked the following:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {4FB1194E-D990-3D10-F676-4013A1C619B5} - C:\WINDOWS\atlyp32.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {BDF3E430-B101-42AD-A544-FADC6B084872} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [741942D6] C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\~65FD.tmp.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [wintv.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\wintv.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [MRUBlaster] C:\Program Files\MRU-Blaster\indexcleaner.exe -CC
O23 - Service: Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Helper ( 11Fßä#·ºÄÖ`I) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\d3ha.exe (file missing)

Wait 60 seconds and repeat the scan. Did any of the above come back? IF so
leave HijackThis up and right click on the clock and select Task Manager. Then
Processes. Find Explorer.exe, right click on it and select End Process. The
desktop will disappear but HijackThis should still be there. IF you don't see
it switch to Applications in Task Manager and highlight it there then press
Switch To or just double click on it. Check and Fix Checked the above again.
Restart Explorer by Task Manager, File, New Task(Run), explorer.exe, OK.

Now run ccleaner.exe. On the first page, uncheck everything but the two lines
that have the word Temporary in them then Run Cleaner.

Reboot into normal mode and run another HijackThis log and send it to me. Let's
see how we did.
