Problems with my windows installer

I was trying to download an update of java and a window pops up saying that my windows installer is not functioning, and that I might be in safe mode. I can't install, please help.

Hello Pip,

Thanks for the help, I went to the link and the directions on the microsoft web site worked....

I guess that means that I am becoming a geek? If it does, then I am all for it!

I can finally use the "tips for advanced users" yay!
