Ok...this nasty little thing seems to be causing lots of nasty little problems for me. I've run Ad-Aware SE, Spybot, CWShredder and AVG sadly to no avail and I've just downloaded and run Hijack This and saved one of them log file thingies. I don't know if there's anything else I need to do just now but I'm hoping somebody can come in and save me. If I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about...that's because I don't. I don't even know if I'm doing this right thing now in posting but I'm kind of at a dead end. ;)

I'm feeling all lost and useless suddenly because I've never used this program before, I've not really had a browser hijack problem quite like this before and I'm kinda stuck straight away. :tazz: So if somebody could pleeease help mee?

Ok, here's the logfile and I'm sooo hoping I've done everything right:

I'm guessing part of the problem is that .dll file and the stuff about the IE start page but how I go about fixing it now I don't know. I also read in another thread about two files called 'wp.bmp' and 'wp.exe', the former exists on my hard drive and the latter is a running process and both seem to be working together to give me a weirdy blue screen message desktop. How to remove these I don't know either. So in summary, I don't seem to know much and I reeeally could do with some help so um...anyone? ;)

Ok, having just checked above me I see that somebody has posted this:

A fatal error in IE has occured at 0028:C0011E36 in VXD VMM(01) + 00010E36. Error was caused by Trojan-Spy.HTML.Smitfraud.c

*System cannot function in normal mode.
Please check your security settings.

*Scan your PC with any available antivirus / spyware remover
program to fix the problem.

That's the exact message I have on my desktop at the moment. A lovely blue screen...with that. :tazz:
