Hello everyone-
Wondered if anyone can help me or has any ideas.

About a month or so ago my 2 year old HP Pavilion laptop just started randomly turning off. There are no error messages or warnings or anything, it's just like someone pushed the power button. When I turn it back on, there are no improper shutdown screens or anything. It's been doing this with increasing frequency.

Yesterday I decided to reinstall Windows, so I put the system recovery disk in and started to install it. However, the computer turned off in the middle of installation! I have tried to reinstall it about 5 more times, every time it turns off in the middle of installation.

I am not sure what to do now, I have a computer with no operating system at the moment. I am so frustrated I could scream!

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Enter into your Setup / BIOS and turn off/disable any APM (Advanced Power Management) options.

That's the only thing I can really think of trying off the top of my head. If that doesn't work, I would recommend replacement under warranty, assuming you still have any warranty left.
