Trouble with cd/dvd drive

My Cd/dvd drive does not read cds/dvds
and of course it wont burn them either. It did
when we first got the computer about 5 yrs ago
but it hasnt worked in about 4 yrs and just recently
stopped reading all disks.

Is it connected properly, and is the correct driver for it installed? Try opening your case, pulling out the cables that connect to it and plug it in again.

If the problem still persists, then go to the drive manufacturer's site and download+install the driver.
