I had some spyware issues and received help from the Malware Forum. In fixing that problem now my web pages load with errors on page icon in lower left corner or the entire page does not load and it tells me: Internet Explorer cannot load page.

I will attatch screen shots of the error I am getting. The Malware tech thought it might be something in my security settings but I cannot find anything that would not allow add ons to run correctly, can you help me.

I apologize for the delay in getting to you...

Have you tried to open these pages using another browser...like Firefox? Trying this may give us some idea as to whether the problem is with IE settings or if it is something else.

That is ok. I was just confused that is all. I am just glad that you all are here to help people like me.

No I have not tried firefox or mozilla I have only used IE. I will download one of them now and try that. I will post with the results.

I am having the same problem with Firefox as I did with IE.

Let's look at some security settings...

Open Control Panel and double click on the Internet Options icon. Click on the "Security" tab, then the "Internet" zone icon. What is the Security level set to?

Click on the "Custom level" button and compare your setting to those in the images below. Please include links to a couple of the websites you have the problem with in your next reply.

I think you posted that in the wrong thread..

I'm not having any problems with the internet, XP freezes on startup.

Ok checked all of the settings and they were all the same as in your images.

If you look at the links in my original post those are the errors I am receiving.

Let's try reinstalling IE7. To do this, it must first be uninstalled.

Open Control Panel and double click the "Add or Remove Programs" icon. Tick the box at the top to "Show Updates". Scroll down the list of installed programs and click on "Windows Internet Explorer 7" and click on "Remove". You should revert to IE6. Reboot.

Download Internet Explorer 7 and install it using the default settings. Reboot.

Try the web pages again.

Ok I followed your instructions for uninstalling IE7. The only option it gave me was for the updates for IE7, so I uninstalled those. I then reinstalled IE7 and it is still doing the same thing. Did I do something wrong?

It didn't show Windows Internet Explorer 7 in Add or Remove Programs?

If you click on the error message on the lower left corner, does it display the nature of the error?

Let's look at your ActiveX Objects to see if they're damaged...they could probably use an update, too. Open "Internet Options" from Control Panel. Under the "General" tab, in the "Browsing History" section, click on the "Settings" button. Click the "View Objects" button. Right click on each icon, select "Properties" and look at the "Status" under the "General" tab. It should show either Installed or Damaged.

Do any of them show as being "Damaged"?

As for the Objects. The only ones that do not say Installed are:

ActiveGS.cab

Status: Unknown

Microsoft Office Template & Media Control

Status: Unpluged

There are some that say: * damaged under the Dependency tab.
