A few months ago, I set up a little home network with the other computer and this laptop. It worked out great for transferring files from one computer to the other. It isn't working anymore. On this laptop, when I go to My Network Places and click on the computer that I run the network with, it says:

\\House\shareddocs is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The network path was not found.

On the other computer, when I go to My Network Places, this computer doesn't even show up. Please help me and instruct me on what to do.

Thanks!

check ur PC name first e.g. give 'x' to one and 'y' to other and then share docs and give proper permissions for the shared doc---
rt click folder to shared
go to properties
go to sharing tab
select share folder (give any name and remember the name e.g 'sharex')
click permission button at below
give permission to everyone read, write execute full--
go to run type \\x\sharex or \\x only to see all shared docs
