Computer running slowly. I am running Windows XP updated. Something happened to my Norton AntiVirus to make the auto scan not work. Uninstalled/reinstalled - same problem. So I downloaded AVG free edition and scanned my computer. It indicated I have:

Trojan Horse BackDoor.Punctes.A

I ran the following and no Trojan Horse was found:

Ad-aware SE
CW Shredder
Spybot Search and Destroy

I rebooted. Would someone please review my Hijack This log please:

Hi Catharsis,

Sorry you had to wait so long.

I found lots of references that AVG found this trojan in an installer and it turned out to be a false positive.

If you know which file was detected as that trojan could you upload that file here:
http://virusscan.jotti.org/ (if it's not too big)
Before we go off on a wild gosse chase over nothing.

Then download and unzip to one folder:

Inside the folder find findlop.bat

Doubleclick it and it will create the file C:\findlop.txt
Find that file and copy the content into your next post.

Also get the latest verison of HijackThis 1.99.1 and post a log made with that.

Thank you Metallica,

It looks like it was a false positive. My Norton Anti Virus decided to start working again and it didn't find this trojan. It was associated with financial software I purchased and downloaded from disc. Looks like everything if fine now.

Thank you again.
