I am looking at having to replace the CPU and mobo on a computer with windows xp pro. I remember seeing an article at some point that mentioned a way to reinstall the system files without redoing the entire HDD and losing all the data. I think it was possibly the upgrade option but I am not sure, can someone fill me??????

Hello medic617...

I believe you may be referring to a Repair Installation (in-place upgrade).
