Hired it!

what the heck does that mean?

	  "This application has failed to start because d3dx9_34.dll was not found"

	  Question
	  Every time I try to run the game I get the following message, "This application has failed to start because d3dx9_34.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem". What does this mean?

	  Answer
	  That means you don’t have the correct version of DirectX. You need to install the latest version of DirectX 9.0c (found on the game disc, or www.microsoft.com). This is true even for Vista owners using DX10.

NOTICE TO ALL 64-BIT USERS::

In 64-bit versions of Windows, 64-bit dll's go into the SYSTEM32 folder. 32-bit dll's go into the SYSWOW64 folder. Make sure you are placing the 64-bit version and 32-bit version of d3dx9_34.dll in their correct respective places!

if you need more info, then send me an email: email removed to protect the innocent: Murray

You need to make yourself more clear, what exactly does "Hired" mean?

ok, I think I understand "hire it". Silly European english. In proper American lexicon you mean Rented it.

I wasn't aware that pc games were available for "rent". Only console games. Please clarify if I'm under the wrong impression here.

For starters, yes hired and rented mean the same thing. It's called larger understanding of the English language.

Ok, thanks for the link to D3DX9_34DLL, but unfortunetly the link has expired. If you could please repost the link i'd be very greatful.

Thanks everyone.
